Hours before debt talks collapsed Friday between President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, liberal radio talk show host Bill Press questioned why lightning hadn't struck Boehner over a statement he'd made about default.
Press played a clip of Boehner saying:
"If we're going to avoid default and prevent a downgrade of our credit rating, if we're going to create jobs and jumpstart the economy, I think he needs to step up and work with us on the spending cuts and reforms that the American people are demanding."
In response, Press said: "It's a wonder lightning just doesn't just strike people dead on the spot when they say stuff like that."
