A Continental Airlines passenger was tackled by fellow fliers and later detained after he caused a disturbance on a flight from Portland to Houston on Tuesday. The man reportedly tried to light an electronic cigarette and began screaming "Allah is great!"
KHOU-TV has the report, which also notes the disturbance may have started when the man and his friend were trying to sit by each other and couldn't. It also includes some emotional interviews with fellow passengers:
"He was screaming, 'Allah is great, Allah is great,' you know, and it kinda worries you when all of that happens," a passenger on the flight told the news outlet.
According to KHOU, the man has not been charged with anything yet, but he was taken into custody once the plane landed in Portland. The pilot had apparently turned the plane around once the disturbance ensued.
According to Continental, though, there was not security threat.
