Famed Investor's Cheeky Warning: If Obama Controls Congress 'Consider Leaving the Country

"I love America..."

Leon Cooperman has been critical of Barack Obama before. But he may have taken it to the next level while on CNBC Monday with a candid admission: If Obama wins a second term and controls Congress, "consider leaving the country."

After a CNBC anchor asked Cooperman, the founder of Omega Advisors, if Obama would be reelected, he said he thought the more important issue was whether the president would control Congress in a second term.

"I think the bigger issue will be who controls Congress," he responded. "If [Obama] controls Congress, maybe consider leaving the country."

The comment was uttered with a chuckle. And almost immediately, as if realizing he had a moment of too much candor, he followed up with, "I love America so I'm not going anywhere."
