After Mega Millions mania engulfed the country last month, one Louisiana gas station defied all conventional lottery odds and sold six winning $1 million prizes this week.
According to Baton Rouge CBS affiliate WAFB-TV, a 52-year-old man spent six dollars on a lottery ticket in Watson, La., playing the same five numbers but choosing a different Mega Ball number each time and filling in the "multiplier" box.
He won three times for a total of $750,000, which quadrupled to $3 million when the correct multiplier ball dropped.
In a twist, WAFB reported the winning ticket was accidentally printed twice and bought by a second customer several hours later.
Lottery officials said the original customer claimed his winnings Wednesday, according to the station. The second ticket-holder has not yet come forward.
