This Video Promises to Show an 'Impossible' Basketball Shot -- and It Delivers

Video

"conjures up some "Play of the Decade" memories"

One of the first rules of writing is don't use cliches or hype something up for the sake of hyping something up. But sometimes, just sometimes, rules are meant to be broken. What you're about to see is something claiming to be an "impossible" basketball shot. Call me George Washington because I can't lie: that's spot on. (Whoops.)

Here's how Deadspin describes it:

Look, I don't know for a fact that 28-year-old Armands Skele of BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn grew up idolizing one J.R. Rider, but this insane three-pointer from last night conjures up some "Play of the Decade" memories for those of a certain age.

And SportsGrid:

You have to be a little skeptical when you see terms like “impossible shot” in a video’s title, before watching the video. Will it really look that impressive, or did the uploader oversell to get more views? Either way, it works, because you have to watch it just to make sure, but we began watching the video below from a recent game out in Estonia (which promises an “IMPOSSIBLE SHOT”) with our guard up, ready to be unimpressed. And as the video began and nothing out of the ordinary was happening, we were ready to feel entirely justified in our skepticism. And then, the 13-second mark happened

At the end of the day it's not rocket science that this is hard to wrap your head around. Enjoy it while it lasts. It's awesome:
