During a fundraiser with Bill Clinton in New York City on Monday night, President Barack Obama said he had hoped that day to take a stroll around Central Park without Secret Service in tow. The plan: Go unnoticed as the president by wearing a fake mustache.
"I tried it on and I thought it looked pretty good. But when I tested this scheme with the Secret Service, they said it didn't look good enough," Obama said, drawing laughs from an audience of 1,700 or so at the New Amsterdam Theater in Times Square.
Obama said SS denied his request because the mustache (despite making him look like a less-fun Sammy Davis, Jr.) wasn't convincing enough.
