ODD: Rachel Maddow reveals she's an objective journalist on 'Real Time

There's an expectation that you'll have an opinion on everything if you're invited as a guest on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher. That's the point of the show. But it escaped MSNBC's Rachel Maddow last night when it came to talking about Mitt Romney's policy record as governor of Massachusetts.

"Romneycare is something that you would agree with?," Editor of Reason.TV Nick Gillespie said to Maddow. "You would say that's a great Republican policy?"

It was an assumption posed as a question and Maddow got all touchy. "You don't know anything about me," she said. But even host Bill Maher was curious. "Wait, you're not for Romneycare?," he said about three times.

"Leave me alone about Romneycare," Maddow responded, before declaring her new-found role as an objective journalist. "Listen, my job is to cover these things, not to tell you how I like them or not."

[Uncomfortable pause]

"...oh...well...," Maher said.
