80-Year-Old Woman Fends Off Armed Robbers by Pelting Them With...Mangoes!

"Best security footage you will see all day"

This is the best security footage you will see all day.

On Friday, two Boston-area robbers encountered quite a surprise in the form of an 80-year-old woman who, rather than stand meekly by as her son-in-law's store was robbed, began pelting the robbers with fresh fruit.

The footage didn't record what exactly the woman was saying, but by the looks of it, she gave them quite an earful as well.

Here, you see 80-year-old Otilia Martins reaching for the mangoes:

Then, she launches the fruit at the armed suspects:

And chases down the other with her nutritious weapon-of-choice:

The video indicates that Martins was successful in getting the men out of the store, but one of the suspects hit her on the head with his pistol on his way out.

When asked whether he was surprised by the actions of his mother-in-law, Manuel Nogueira smiled and said: "She has a lot of courage, you know?"

Nogueira was outside at the time of the commotion, but managed to apprehend one of the suspects after he was chased outside.

“One of my friends came by and he helped me,” Nogueira told WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Mark Katic. “I went to check for the other one, but he went inside an apartment.”

Watch the unbelievable video, below:

According to reports, both suspects have since been caught and identified.

CBS relates:

Police found the other suspect, 24-year-old Jesse DosSantos hiding inside that apartment building, on the second floor, which is where he lives.

The also recovered a .38 caliber revolver in the couch cushions. Investigators say it’s the same weapon DosSantos used in the robbery.

Both men are facing a number of charges, including armed robbery.

As for the heroic mango-throwing Martins, reports indicate that she refused medical treatment despite the gash on her head.
