When alleged gunman James Holmes stormed a theater in Aurora, Colo. during a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises,” police reports and eyewitness accounts claim he was armed with multiple firearms, a ballistic helmet, a gas mask, a bulletproof vest, and more than 100 rounds of ammunition.
Victims of the attack recall that about 30 minutes into the film, teargas began to fill the theater and then, from out of the smoke, a black-clad, heavily armored silhouette emerged and opened fire.
The following infographic from Allison Cross, Jonathan Rivait, and Richard Johnson of The National Post gives us a small glimpse into the horror of the "Batman" massacre [although we cannot even begin to imagine the terror the victims must have felt]:
A silver lining takeaway: “Looking closely at the ammunition and equipment involved, it becomes clear that last Friday’s attack could have been much worse.”
