Reuters reports that more than 1,300 Syrians, including a brigadier-general, fled to Turkey overnight Tuesday. With about 47,500 refugees now in Turkey, some observers predict that the end is most definitely near for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad against an uprising that began almost 17 months ago.
