Slavery talk is nothing new for Joe Biden

It's being billed as a "gaffe" by the media, but referencing slavery in propping up his political position has been part of Joe Biden's playbook for a long time.

This week, the vice president made headlines when he told a largely black audience that the GOP wanted to put them "back in chains" -- a claim many have understandably criticized for race-baiting.

In 2006, then-Senator Biden fielded questions about his 2008 presidential campaign and his strategy for appealing to primary voters in South Carolina. When Fox News host Chris Wallace asked how the "Northeast liberal" could win in South Carolina, Biden replied, "You don't know my state. My state was a slave state. My state is a border state. My state is the eighth largest black population in the country. My state is anything from a Northeast liberal state."

In a new column out today, conservative author Michelle Malkin examines Biden's "seismically cringe-inducing" rhetoric.  "Looks like Vice President Joe Biden has been taking extracurricular Democratic jive-talking lessons," she writes.

Is there anything more ridiculous than white Democrats talking down and talking black to voters — while whitewashing the devastating effects of their economic policies on those voters? Is there anything more poisonous than stoking racial grievances by shamelessly likening your political opponents to slavemasters — while presiding over a culture of dependency than chains future generations to massive debt?

Joe Biden isn’t a BFD. He’s a BFE: Big F’n Embarrassment.

BAM.
