As Governor of Texas and on the campaign trail as a former candidate himself, Rick Perry has called attention to the federal expansion of Medicaid and has fought for his state’s legal right to refuse it. Governor Perry's ideas on Medicare are in line with the Republican Party platform and Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan, who is known for his proposals that make sweeping reforms and cuts to Medicaid and Medicare to make the programs sustainable.
With Ryan set to deliver the closing remarks Wednesday night in a speech focusing on the economy and restoring fiscal responsibility to the U.S. government, Governor Rick Perry joined S.E. Cupp and Will Cain on 'Real News' from Tampa Wednesday to discuss what he's done in Texas to fight off the culture of dependency and what he see's as an expansion of government advocated by the current administration.
