A story in the Wall Street Journal today details the attempts by both the Romney and Obama campaigns to appeal to America's every-man. Mitt Romney goes to NASCAR races (where he knows people... who own the teams) and President Obama goes to bars.
And, according to the Journal, when Obama orders a Bud Light, he's wishing he had something with a little more flair.
The president's staff has joked that he doesn't always look comfortable with a beer in his hand; he has been known to prefer martinis.
The only person I've been able to find on-record who knew Obama likes martinis is Republican Strategist Karl Rove. Back in 2008, Rove said "Even if you never met him, you know this guy. He’s the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by."
