Video Captures High-Speed Police Chase Ending in Giant, Flaming Crash

"Losing control. Into the side wall. Smash. Overturned car. Boom. On fire."

A high-speed car chase between the Los Angeles Police Department and a suspected drunk driver Wednesday night ended with the suspect hitting a highway guardrail and sending the vehicle up in flames.

The broadcaster in KTLA's report, which showed aerial footage of the chase, maintains a rather calm, professional tone as he detailed the scene as car wove in and out of traffic on the 10 Freeway at 60 in Boyle Heights, which is a downtown Los Angeles neighborhood. But when live footage showed the red Mustang -- going at upward of 100 miles per hour -- hitting a rail, spinning out of control and bursting into a flaming fireball, the broadcaster's tone changed completely.

"Losing control. Into the side wall. Smash. Overturned car. Boom. On fire."

KTLA reported the man inside the flaming car was saved by police. The man was rushed to the hospital but details on his condition have not be released.
