Washington Times' odd recommendation for gay Boy Scouts

Editors at the conservative Washington Times have written several editorials of late calling on the Boy Scouts of America to continue excluding gay members and Scout leaders.

The latest installment argues that gay would-be Scouts should create their own organization and even makes a suggestion as to what it might be called...

Rather than trample the Scouts’ religious and associational freedoms ... homosexuals are free to create their own parallel, scout-like organization with any set of values they wish. They could call them the Gay Caballeros or such names that might appeal to young boys. The Boy Scouts of America should stick to the “morally straight” values that have served the nation and the Scouts well since 1910.

"Caballeros" is the Spanish word for "gentlemen."
