Have You Seen This Record-Breaking Bible Trivia Show? TheBlaze Takes You Behind the Scenes

"Goodness is contagious  Love is contagious. It's just an appealing message."

It's that time again. Tonight, GSN's "The American Bible Challenge" comes back for a second season. The popular game show, hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, broke records during its bold, first season, becoming the highest-rated program in GSN's history. Now, it's back for another go-around -- and TheBlaze went behind-the-scenes with Foxworthy and the GSN crew in Hollywood, Calif., to get a sneak-peek at what's to come.

From sitting down with the comedian to speaking with countless members of the crew, the experience was phenomenal.

The series, of course, has been a surprise success from the start. Very rarely has an entertainment network -- let alone a game show -- taken such a profound chance on a program that incorporates such overt Christian themes. Yet GSN, a secular media outlet, was willing to throw its hat into the faith-based ring.

Obviously, the numbers paid off. And tonight, the series comes back with a whole host of fun, new games. Premiering at 9:00 p.m. ET, teams will test their Bible knowledge and compete for charity (there's even a team called "The Sisters of Mary" and, yes, as you probably suspected, they're nuns).

"These nuns are fun, funny and let me tell you, they came to win. Viewers are going to really enjoy seeing them in action," Foxworthy said of the women in a press release announcing their participation.

And "action" is a literal here, as the contestants will all be doing more than merely answering questions this season. In fact, in the preview footage you'll see contestants, including the sisters, facing-off in some fun-filled games that require more than their minds. From tossing utensils into glasses to sinking ping-pong balls, these quests infuse additional comedy into an already entertaining show.

Here are some show highlights:

In addition to learning more about the set and seeing watching musical co-host Kirk Franklin and others in action, TheBlaze had the opportunity to sit down with Foxworthy.

From covering his foray into "The American Bible Challenge" to learning more about how his fans have reacted to his newest hosting gig, the interview covered quite a bit of ground.

"Probably the most rewarding thing was, you get to know the people that are playing and you get to see these stories of what they're doing and it's -- they weren't just people of faith, they were people living out their faith," he told TheBlaze about the most rewarding part of the hosting experience.

"Goodness is contagious. Love is contagious. It's just an appealing message," he added.

The host stressed the importance of living out one's faith and he told us how he accomplishes this in his own life. How, you ask? Well, you'll have to watch the interview to find out.

In addition to speaking with Foxworthy, TheBlaze also interviewed Pastor Troy Schmidt, a consulting producer for the show who helps with conceptualization and writing. He shared the unique insights he's gained from working in the entertainment and faith worlds.
