A Deeper Look Into the Mindset of Boston Bombing Suspects' Mother

On his Monday evening program, Glenn Beck reviewed the long list of questions surrounding the events leading up to and during the Boston Marathon attacks. In addition, he also discussed one of the clearly radical influences in the Tsarnaev brothers' lives: their mother. As reports about the "raving"  mother's anti-U.S. sentiments and  bent toward radical Islam abound, Dzhokhar and Tamerlan's initial catalysts might come more clearly into focus.

Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, mother of the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects, was once reportedly a modern-woman, complete with trendy, revealing clothing. She even had dreams of attending cosmetology school to become a beautician. However, a recent Blaze report revealed that the fashion-forward Chechen turned into a hijab-wearing zealot who spouted off a steady stream of conspiracy theories, including the belief that the 9/11 attacks were a U.S. plot against Muslims.

Tsarnaeva is garnering increased attention now, after federal officials say Russian authorities intercepted her phone calls, including one in which she discussed jihad with her elder son, the Associated Press reported.

In another instance, Tsarnaeva was recorded talking to someone in southern Russia who is currently under FBI investigation in an unrelated case.

While she insists she is not a terrorist and simply found her true spiritual calling, the mother of the two bombing suspects maintains that her sons are innocent and indeed, at the center of yet another U.S.-led conspiracy.

“It’s all lies and hypocrisy,” she told the AP in Dagestan. “I’m sick and tired of all this nonsense that they make up about me and my children. People know me as a regular person, and I’ve never been mixed up in any criminal intentions, especially any linked to terrorism.”
