Tea Party Leader Who Stole the Show at Tuesday's Hearing Speaks Out on TheBlaze TV

"And I’m telling my government that you’ve forgotten your place."

Tea Party leader Becky Gerritson gave a passionate testimony during Tuesday's House Ways and Means committee hearing on the Internal Revenue Service's targeting of conservative groups.

“I’m not begging my Lord's for mercy. I’m a born-free American woman, wife, mother, and citizen. And I’m telling my government that you’ve forgotten your place,” a tearing up Gerritson said.

“It’s not your responsibility to look out for my well being and to monitor my speech. It’s not your right to assert an agenda. The post that you occupy exists to preserve American liberty. You’ve sworn to perform that duty and you have faltered.”

Other witnesses at Tuesday's hearing representing conservative groups allegedly targeted by the IRS included John Eastman of the National Organization for Marriage, Diane Besom of the Laurens County Tea Party, Karen Kenny of the San Fernando Valley Patriots, Kevin Kookogey of Linchpins of Liberty, and Sue Martinek of the Coalition for Life of Iowa.

Gerritson joined 'Wilkow!' Tuesday to discuss her hearing and the harassment her group experienced from the IRS, as well as the letter she got from Lois Lerner, former director of the IRS Exempt Organizations Division.
