Democratic polling firm throws a wet blanket on Wendy Davis

News
Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, speaks as she begins a filibuster in an effort to kill an abortion bill, Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in Austin, Texas. At least one of the potential political aspirations for Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis (D) -- the new pro-choice movement hero for her 11-hour filibuster against an anti-abortion bill --  receives a reality check from Democratic polling firm Public Policy Polling:

Davis would trail Rick Perry by 14 points in a hypothetical match up [for governorship], 53/39. While Davis' standing has improved over the last five months so has Perry's.

Davis reportedly spoke last week with the chairman of the Democratic Governors Association.
