MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell gets love from Ann Coulter over Rolling Stone Boston Bomber cover

Here's an unlikely pairing.

Conservative author Ann Coulter offered up some rare praise for MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell following a commentary he delivered Wednesday night, slamming the author of the cover story of the latest issue of the Rolling Stone.

"I don't care about the cover, but O'Donnell beautifully humiliates author of Rolling Stone idiocy on Boston bomber," Coulter tweeted Thursday.

In his commentary, O'Donnell said that the Rolling Stone author had agreed to appear on his show to discuss the article, which examines the life of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who has been charged in relation to the Boston Marathon bombings. O'Donnell said, however, that the author's appearance was canceled after there was public backlash against the Rolling Stone cover, which featured an attractive photo of Tsarnaev.

Rolling Stone issued a statement defending its cover, adding that their "hearts go out to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing and our thoughts are always with them and their families."

"That first line is of course not true," O'Donnell said. "None of the thoughts in the current issue of Rolling Stone are with the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings and their families. None. All of Rolling Stone thoughts are with the Boston murderers and their oblivious friends."
