President Obama will make a pit stop in Chattanooga, Tenn., this week to deliver remarks at online retailer Amazon's giant distribution center. Ahead of his visit, Amazon announced Monday that it plans to fill more than 5,000 new full-time jobs at 17 of its locations across the country. But the state's Republican Party doesn't want the president to think he's contributed to Tennessee's jobs growth.

To make sure he doesn't, the GOP has released a new ad that will air on local television this week, clarifying that the state's success comes "not because of your liberal policies but in spite of them."

“We’re a right-to-work state relying on the hard work of individuals, not unions,” the ad notes. “Unlike Washington, we’ve got the lowest debt of any state in the nation.”
