Housing Complex Removes Veteran's U.S. Flags From Outside His Home

Officials at a federally subsidized housing complex removed a U.S. veteran's American flags from outside his residence earlier this week for reportedly violating an ordinance.

Korean War veteran Armond "Sonny" Noah emotionally told Fox 5 Atlanta he is upset that he is now in a battle to display the stars and stripes.

"I don't think we should have to fight for the flag," he said. "It was an honor for me to serve the country. And I was proud of that. I was a good soldier."

To Noah's dismay, housing management returned the flags by laying them at his door in a plastic bag.

He added he was never warned the location of the flags violated any ordinances.

"They never said anything to me," Noah told Fox 5.

A spokesperson for the housing complex reportedly said the incident was mishandled and that the flags were removed because they were in a common area. Nonetheless, they plan to issue an apology to Noah and reach a compromise.

Last month, an Iraq war veteran threatened to leave her apartment complex when management prevented her from flying the U.S. flag from her balcony.
