Satire Website Seemingly Predicted the Great Miley Cyrus Meltdown of 2013

Former child star Miley Cyrus set social media ablaze Sunday night with her raunchy, over-the-top performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards:

But funnier than Cyrus’s desperate and unintentionally hilarious attempt at staying relevant in the fast-paced world of teen stardom is the fact that a satire website in 2008 predicted this would happen.

“Unless Americans turn to alternative sources of entertainment, the 'Hannah Montana' star will soon be completely tapped out,” writers at The Onion joked, referring to Cyrus’s popular television personality.

The Onion even accurately predicted which year Cyrus would end up losing her mind:
