Newspaper Compared the Redskins to WHAT?

“Archaic Symbols of Pride and Heritage."

The New York Daily News published a political cartoon Thursday comparing the Washington Redskins to Nazis and Confederates.

The cartoon’s caption reads, “Archaic Symbols of Pride and Heritage."

The cartoon is, of course, in reference of the team’s name, which is facing controversy over charges that it's “racist,” “insensitive” and “politically incorrect.”

Fox affiliate WTTG-TV in the nation’s capital reached out to businesses that advertise at the Redskins' FedExField to see if they too are bothered by the team's name.

The businesses contacted either had no comment or voiced support for the team. Many simply didn’t return calls.
