From a White House pool report filed Wednesday night at the Medal of Freedom dinner, held in Washington, D.C., at the Museum of American History:
Hillary Clinton arrived and gave an embrace to Jesse Jackson Sr., who isn’t a regular on the White House guest list. Jackson sported a tux with a vest. Clinton was in a floral print top.
Tensions must have cooled between President Obama and Jackson. The new book "Double Down," an insiders account of the 2012 presidential election, reported that Obama was not too keen on Jackson and Jackson was "effectively banned" from the White House.
It's also worth remembering that during the 2008 presidential election, Jackson was caught on a hot mic accusing Obama of "talking down to black people" and saying he wanted to "cut [Obama's] nuts off."
