Government officials in Newtown, Conn., have requested that the national news media stay away from the town on Saturday, the anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Some outlets with plans to honor the request:
--USA Today and CNN, according to a story in USA Today.
--NBC and ABC "have no plans to dispatch fully equipped crews," according to the New York Times.
For its part, the New York Times has reported stories ahead of the anniversary. A spokeswoman told TheBlaze Blog that those stories will run on Saturday.
We've requested comment from the Washington Post and the Associated Press as well.
