Not to worry, the Earth will be saved because Mark Wahlberg's character knows how to use jumper cables.
The Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer hit YouTube yesterday, showcasing Mark Wahlberg as the new human protagonist amongst the dusty, rusty autobots, who seem to be shoved aside by the futuristic American administration.
The movie hearkens 9/11 sentiment with their "Remember Chicago" billboards (YouTube).
"Extinction" is set a few years after the events of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, in which "Chicago was decimated and humanity was nearly annihilated by the evil Decepticons, only to be saved by the noble Autobots and some plucky earthlings," reported the Los Angeles Times.

The trailer for the 4th installment of the franchise introduces Wahlberg as a mechanic with plenty of elbow grease and a knack for technology, who brings Optimus Prime to life by jump-starting the forgotten lump of machinery, then gets caught in the middle of the ongoing war between the rival clans of shape-shifting alien robots.
The human plot makers seem to come from humble roots, living on a rural farm with the father figure scraping funds together for college by salvaging scrap metal parts.
