F**k It, Let's Go Nuts!': Jon Stewart Unloads on CNN

"F**k it, let’s go nuts!"

"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart blasted CNN's coverage of missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, poking fun at what he perceived as the network's over-the-top handling of a tragic and confounding situation.

At the start of the segment, the comedian played video of CNN anchor Anderson Cooper respectfully discussing the missing Malaysian airliner -- then juxtaposed this clip against some of the more bombastic examples of the network's coverage.

"An accurate and humble assessment from CNN," Stewart said of Cooper's balanced approach. "Until they realized, 'Oh sh*t, we’ve got 23 hours and 59 minutes left to fill. F**k it, let’s go nuts!"

And that's when the comedian began blasting the network's analysis of the missing flight.

"Giant floor maps, big fake airplanes, little fake airplanes holographic airplanes -- no airplane detail left unspoken!," Stewart quipped.

He went on to note that CNN's "airline obsession" paid off in the ratings, taking shots at the news outlet's recent struggles to attract viewers.

"CNN's missing airline obsession not only doubled their prime time ratings," Stewart said. "It itself became news, because the only thing less likely than an airplane disappearing out of the sky is CNN's ratings doubling."

Other news networks weren't immune to the skewering either.
