Former Ambassador John Bolton Tears Into the Obama Admin: 'Children' in Charge of Foreign Policy

“The administration’s view of the Middle East is delusional."

Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton tore apart the Obama administration during an interview with TheBlaze Radio's Chris Salcedo Tuesday, comparing the current leadership to "children."

Speaking about Secretary of State John Kerry's warning that Israel could become an "apartheid state" if it doesn't make peace with the Palestinians soon, Bolton remarked: "What Kerry said was completely outrageous, defamatory. It explains why our diplomacy in the Middle East is so wretched."

Bolton continued: "The administration's view of the Middle East is delusional. You can see it across the board in our mishandling of Iran's nuclear weapons program, ... the failure to do a single thing in 18 months after the killing of our ambassador in Libya, ... in Syria. The list is a long, long list, and the mishandling of the Israeli-Palestinian issue is right at the top of it."

Bolton described Kerry's apology as "utterly inadequate," condemning how "nobody in the Obama administration takes accountability for anything."

He added that the president's "lack of focus, lack of attention, [and] lack of competence combined with an ideology that says "America's been too powerful, too successful in the last century" is what makes up the "Obama doctrine."

"It is one that will not protect American interests around the world, or our friends and allies," he declared.

After Salcedo spoke about how State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki expressed hope that Russia would “live by the promise of hashtag” #UnitedforUkriane, Bolton commented: "I love children, I just don't think they should be in charge of foreign policy. And this is a perfect example of it."

"I think the reaction in the Kremlin is that if this is the best they can do in Washington, we have a free hand in the Ukraine," he added. "It's not just silly and kind of pathetic. It can actually, I think, cause harm."
