Tense Video: Reporter Writes ‘Blah Blah Blah’, Asks Mocking Climate Change Question — GOP Candidate Finally Had Enough

"Who do you think you are?"

A Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Oregon was thrown out of a meeting with the alternative weekly newspaper Willamette Week after he confronted a reporter for writing “blah blah blah” on his notepad while another GOP candidate was talking.

Republican candidate Mark Callahan was reportedly among several other GOP Senate candidates seeking an endorsement from the newspaper. Callahan took offense when he caught reporter Nigel Jaquiss scribbling “blah blah blah” while candidate Joe Rae Perkins answered a question, as first reported by Jim Romenesko.

“I see what you’re writing down there. You just wrote down ‘blah blah blah blah’ for everything that Jo Rae said,” he said. “Jo Rae is a respectful woman. Why are you not respecting her by writing ‘blah blah blah blah’ in your notepad?”

Rather than address the question, the moderator told Callahan to calm down and then changed the subject to climate change, asking the candidate if he thinks it’s real or a myth.

“It’s a myth,” Callahan responded.

Jaquiss, the same reporter busted just moments before, then asked him what is views are on the “Easter bunny,” an obvious attempt to mock the candidate.

“Are these really the questions that I was called here to answer?” a stunned Callahan asked. “I called you out for putting ‘blah blah blah’ on your notepad and now you’re asking me questions like this? Really? Really? Are we talking about this now? How about you ask a very serious and respectful question instead of asking a little childish question?”

No apology was issued on behalf of the reporter. Instead, editor-in-chief Mark Zusman warned Callahan that he would be asked to leave if he interrupted again.

“That’s two strikes,” he said.

“Who do you think you are?” Callahan shot back.

Seconds later, he was asked to leave the room.

“It’s a meeting being asked for disrespectful, thin-skinned liberals like yourself,” Callahan said before leaving. “I’ve got better things to do with my time.”
