Glenn Beck's Emotional Message to Viewers: 'Together, I Believe We Will Change the World

"I have been listening so much to [God], that I think I have forgotten a little bit about you. And I apologize."

Glenn Beck took a break from the news of the day on Thursday to have a heart-to-heart with his viewers, apologizing for the construction that has temporarily decreased the production value in his television program and explaining why it has all been necessary.

"We have huge plans. Unfortunately, those plans also have huge budgets, and we don't have the money," Beck explained. "I have written my last check. It is all in God's hands now."

Beck said others in his position would likely have just borrowed the money they needed, but he refuses to owe anyone but God and his audience.

"I've been very, very busy in my own mind and life, and busy with my nose in the scriptures trying to figure out how to present what I believe the Lord is telling me to present," he said. "And I have been listening so much to him, that I think I have forgotten a little bit about you. And I apologize."

Beck grew emotional as he continued speaking to his audience: "I think you're my best friend. When I was 13 years old I got into radio, and I didn't have a lot of friends. My microphone became my best friend. I love you, and I really feel like I know you, and while there are renovations going on in this building, there are also renovations going on inside of me."

Beck said that he is "on the mend a little bit" after "[burning] himself out." He didn't share details, but said he has "left breadcrumbs" for those in his audience. While he and his studios are in a period of transition, Beck begged his audience to "please, give us some time."

"We are going to make it much better than it is," he promised. "It's killing me to see this ... But we have to do it."

"Together I believe we will change the world," he concluded. "I truly, truly believe that. I ask you tonight for your patience and understanding as we try with literally everything we have -- our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor --to make this work in the best possible way we can."
