Limbaugh Says You May Be Missing the Point on White House’s Alleged Response as ‘Terrorists Were Unleashing Hell’ in Benghazi

"Can you believe this?"

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, on Friday, reacted to newly-released information that suggests one of the first things the Obama administration did after hearing about the deadly Benghazi terror attack is call YouTube about an anti-Muslim video.

Limbaugh expressed his frustration at the response, but also argued the media are missing the point with the story.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is claiming that a classified email that he’s reviewed indicates that the White House contacted YouTube within hours of the Benghazi terror attack to warn the video sharing website about posting the anti-Muslim video. Critics allege the email shows the White House was almost immediately tying the video to the attack, even before real intelligence started coming in.

“The memo suggests even as the attack was taking place, as the al Qaeda terrorists were unleashing hell on the consulate, and before the CIA began the process of compiling talking points on its analysis of what happened, the White House believed it was in retaliation for a controversial video,” Limbaugh explained, partially reading from a report. “The subject line of the email… is ‘update on response to actions-Libya.’”

Limbaugh joked that Americans were worried about what President Barack Obama was really doing on the night of the Benghazi attack in September of 2012, but as it turns out “he on the phone with YouTube… Can you believe this?”

“Issa’s point is: They have claimed all along, the White has, the regime, has claimed all along that the CIA is who told them that the attacks were due to the video,” he said. “But the emails that claim the White House was on the phone with YouTube to get the video taken down, those emails occurred before the CIA ever said anything at the time.”
