A new report released this month by a vehicle security company revealed some of the most commonly stolen vehicles in the U.S.

According to LoJack, the Honda Accord was the most stolen and recovered car equipped with their system for the fifth year in a row. The Honda Civic followed in second place, followed by the Toyota Camry, Corolla and Chevy Silverado.

“The latest statistics from the FBI indicate that nearly half of vehicles stolen are not returned to the rightful owners, resulting in millions of dollars in assets lost by vehicle owners," said Patrick Clancy, Vice President of Law Enforcement for LoJack Corporation.

The report also found that California was the state with the highest amount of thefts and recoveries, followed by Texas and Florida.

LoJack compiled the report using data provided by 27 states and drew upon the Intenrational Justice and Public Safety Network. The data was specific to vehicles equipped with a LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System that were recovered between January and December 2013.
