Obama Official Asks, What If 'Psychopaths' in Unit Led Bergdahl to Abandon Post? And Now Some Things Are Missing From His Twitter Account...
June 05, 2014
“What if his platoon was long on psychopaths and short on leadership?”
An Obama administration official is tossing out a theory that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl may have grown weary of "psychopaths" in his unit, which could have led him to abandon his post before being taken prisoner by the Taliban in Afghanistan five years ago.
“Here's the thing about Bergdahl and the Jump-to-Conclusions mats,” Brandon Friedman with the Department of Housing and Urban Development's public affairs office tweeted late Wednesday, Twitchy noted. “What if his platoon was long on psychopaths and short on leadership?”

“What if [Bergdahl] grew disillusioned with what he saw, didn't trust his leadership, and walked off?” added Friedman, who used to work for the Department of Veterans Affairs. “Legal? No. Worthy of sympathy? Maybe.”

Friedman even suggested soldiers who've publicly accused Bergdahl of misconduct have been doing so in retaliation for his alleged desertion.
“If that were the case, the soldiers in his platoon would have all the more reason to smear him publicly now,” Friedman added.

“Given other examples, it’s not out of the realm of possibility — and more reason to withhold judgment until after an investigation,” Friedman also tweets.
Friedman served in Afghanistan and Iraq between 2001 and 2004 and was vice chairman of the Democratic-aligned organization VoteVets before joining the Obama administration in 2009 as a public affairs officer in the Veterans Affairs Department, the Washington Examiner reported.
“I’m not a fan of such speculation, but this story could not be more unbalanced–with so many premature calls of ‘traitor,’” Friedman also tweeted.
Friedman's theories have resulted in pointed criticism:
1st shot: Platoon not credible
2nd: Platoon Swift Boating
Now: Platoon ldrs were psychopaths @KristinnFR @TwitchyTeam @redsteeze @RBPundit

Not long after his tweets first appeared, Friedman apparently deleted his professional connections from his Twitter bio on Thursday, including his listing of "Former U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs," leaving just a mention of his Tumblr account.
Now why would @BFriedmanDC scrub his Twitter bio of everything but his Tumblr account (which contains same info)? pic.twitter.com/vuW1rvE4fu
