Former First Lady and longtime presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is in the middle of a media blitz to promote her new book and, some speculate, inoculate herself from criticism in advance of the 2016 presidential race.
But as "Real Time" host Bill Maher pointed out on his HBO show Friday, "There's a fine line between 'inoculate' and 'we're sick of you.'"
Among other things, Clinton is coming under fire for claiming that she and her husband Bill were "dead broke" as they left the White House more than a decade ago — despite raking in millions of dollars in presidential salary and setting the stage for hundreds of millions more in book advances and speaking fees — as Maher noted before offering Clinton some advice.
"My advice to Hillary: just go away," Maher said. "Go away for a while. We're gonna see each other in a couple of years. A lot. Just go away, because otherwise you're gonna blow this."
