June 30, 2014
Forbes: "The ubiquitous right-winger..."
Forbes has listed Glenn Beck, the founder of TheBlaze, as one of the world’s most powerful celebrities in its annual Celebrity 100 list.
Beck was ranked at No. 39, finishing ahead of people like future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Jimmy Fallon.
At the age of 50, Forbes estimated Beck’s annual earnings at $90 million. Beck was the highest-ranked radio host on the list, topping Rush Limbaugh (59), Sean Hannity (86) and Howard Stern (62).
"The ubiquitous right-winger keeps raking in profits from The Blaze, his hugely successful video and news site which features conservative-leaning content available online," Forbes writes. "The Blaze is also now on Dish Network following Beck's 2012 campaign to bring his programming to TV screens. He makes a small fortune annually from his publishing imprint Mercury Ink, which he owns in partnership with Simon & Schuster, and his eponymous syndicated radio show."
Pop star Beyonce Knowles came in at No. 1 with estimated earnings of $115 million, followed by LeBron James, Dr. Dre, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Jay Z, Floyd Mayweather, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Robert Downey Jr.
