A 9-year-old Connecticut boy witnessed an unexpected reappearing act while attending a magic show at summer camp Wednesday.
As the Manchester child watched the show, his father, Major Timothy Christensen of the Army Reserves, snuck up behind him and surprised him after a 13-month deployment.
Christensen had just flew into Bradley International Airport, before immediately heading to the YMCA's Science Detectives Camp. He was not expected to return until the following week.
"That was the greatest feeling in the world," Christensen told WVIT-TV, " to get to hug your son."
The two embraced for a lengthy amount of time, before 9-year-old Ethan challenged his father to some push ups.
Christensen was recently awarded the Bronze Star. He had just wrapped up his third deployment.
