Video footage posted online Friday purports to show the moment that aid workers clearing rubble in war-torn Aleppo, Syria, came across a precious bundle buried in the wreckage: a crying baby.

The group that posted the video, self-identified as the "Aleppo civil defense," claimed the two-month-old child took 16 hours to rescue and that the baby's mother was also rescued from the rubble.
In the video, the wailing infant is quickly handed off to a crying man while voices all around shout, "God is great!"

Multiple outlets reporting on the video have noted the impossibility of verifying the events depicted in the video; nevertheless, the footage seems convincing and emotionally exhausting.
Aleppo has, like many cities in Syria, been brutalized by the long-running civil war in Syria.
