Which Is More Utterly Nuts: Why She Thought Her Married Lover Was Cheating on Her, or How She Reacted?

“She was pretty graphic about why she had shot him...”

You could say he gave love a bad name — or, graphically, he didn't "produce enough ejaculate" — so she shot him.

Now 58-year-old Sadie Bell has been released from jail pending an appeal of her 10-year sentence, the Detroit News reported, and prosecutors are peeved that a judge allowed the violent Bell to walk free.

Bell was released on Thursday after posting a $10,000 bond.

The incident for which she's facing jail time occurred almost one year ago, after a tryst with her married boyfriend of 15 years, Edward Lee, the Detroit News reported.

According to authorities, Bell was disappointed in Lee's sexual performance and, despite the fact that she was helping him cheat on a different woman — his wife — Bell apparently cared very much if he was cheating on her.

“She was pretty graphic about why she had shot him,” Assistant Oakland County Prosecutor Paul Walton told the Detroit News. “She was convinced he was having an affair. She reached this conclusion by the fact that he didn’t produce enough ejaculate. So she shot him in the stomach.”

Lee, 60, survived the shooting, but was hospitalized and went through surgeries to repair damage to his pancreas, colon, liver and kidney.

One reason prosecutors are trying to get Bell back behind bars is that the incident last year with Lee is not, allegedly, the first time she has shot a lover.

“In 1991, she shot her husband,” Walton said. “A report was taken but the husband refused to cooperate so there was no prosecution. But she clearly has a demonstrated history of violence.”
