Cher Targets Possible 2016 GOP Contender in Blistering Twitter Tirade: 'Minorities Beware

World renowned singer Cher turned to Twitter Friday night to issue a blistering criticism of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), calling the libertarian firebrand a "liar" and appearing to suggest that he may be a racist.

Paul, widely expected to make a bid for the White House in 2016, has come under fire for not supporting the Civil Rights Act of 1964 before. The Kentucky senator contends that the landmark piece of legislation may violate private property rights of owners.

In a 2010 interview, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow grilled him on the subject, asking him if he supports legislation desegregating lunch counters.

"Well what it gets into then is if you decide that restaurants are publicly owned and not privately owned, then do you say that you should have the right to bring your gun into a restaurant even though the owner of the restaurant says 'well no, we don't want to have guns in here' the bar says 'we don't want to have guns in here because people might drink and start fighting and shoot each-other,'" he said.  "Does the owner of the restaurant own his restaurant? Or does the government own his restaurant?"
