Watching College Students Sign a Petition Supporting Islamic State Will Frustrate You — but Just Wait Until Military Vet Is Asked for His Signature

"They are just like us, only with slightly more beheadings."

MRCTV’s Dan Joseph somehow managed to get several students at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, to sign a petition supporting the Islamic State and calling on President Barack Obama not to bomb the terrorist group.

One student, an apparent military veteran, was so shocked to see how many signatures Joseph had collected that all he could say at first was, “What the f***?”

“We are supporting ISIS today. We are telling President Obama to support the fighters of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria — do not bomb them,” Joseph told students in a new video released on Monday.

“They are just like us, only with slightly more beheadings,” he later told another student.

At one point in the video, a female student claims that American journalist Steven Sotloff, who was beheaded by Islamic State militants, was actually with the Mossad, an important Israeli intelligence agency. The same student is heard telling Joseph not to get her “started” on what Christians used to do to nonbelievers.

“Every religion has its moment,” she said, seemingly downplaying radical Islam.

It should noted that, many times, people who sign petitions don’t really understand or care about what they are supporting. Some people sign petitions just to avoid saying no or because they are uninformed on the topic. Joseph is also sarcastically trying to draw support for the Islamic State when he clearly doesn’t actually support the terrorist group.

However, a few students were seemingly well aware of the Islamic State and recent beheadings. Some of those people signed the petition — and others adamantly refused.

One military veteran was having none of it. When Joseph asked him how he knew that Islamic State terrorists wouldn't “be nicer” if the U.S. supported them instead of bombing them, the veteran said such a thing will never happen.

“I know not so,” he said firmly. “I’m from the military. I know not so.”

“How do you think we’ve gotten so many signatures?” Joseph asked.

“Because people are (expletive),” the military veteran responded. “And they don’t watch the news, and they vote uneducated — that’s why.”
