One Look at the Video and It's Clear Why a Russian Man Is Being Called the 'Luckiest Cyclist

A bicyclist in Russia entered the crosswalk and appeared to look both ways as he pedaled slowly forward. What he didn't see coming was the car accident that unfolded within seconds around him.

A large truck was slowly making its way through the intersection in the direction of the biker, but it hit a red sedan that was speeding in the opposite direction. This collision sent debris flying from the car around the biker, but none of it hit him.

A moment later, the truck did make contact with the cyclist before it continued out-of-control past him and landed on its side.

The cyclist, surprisingly, sat up in the middle of the crosswalk next to his bicycle and then, after collecting himself, started off toward the wrecked vehicles to see if he could help.

According to the Russian site RGRU (via an unofficial translation), the incident occurred Friday in Lyubertsy, Russia. The video description said that no one was seriously hurt in the incident.

"Learn from the mistakes of others, be careful not to break the rules of the road," the description said.

The video, which recently made its way onto the video-sharing site LiveLeak, was described as showing the "luckiest cyclist in Russia and quite possibly the world."
