15 Seconds Into This Video of a Helicopter and It Becomes Clear Something Is Wrong

Video circulating on the Internet captures the moment a private helicopter in Brazil lost control and crashed into a lake last Saturday. And it only takes 15 seconds to realize something has gone terribly wrong.

In the video, viewers can see the small helicopter -- which appears to be a Raven -- take off and turn to the right. As soon as it turns, however, it begins to tilt and fails to gain significant altitude. As it continues to tilt to the right, it begins to head toward the water, eventually plummeting in.

According to Brazilian media reports, via Google Translate, the pilot was giving scenic rides for a nearby party and had two passengers on board, a husband and wife. Both died, but the pilot survived.

The footage has reportedly been verified, and the helicopter apparently had a valid airworthiness certificate.

The story, however, takes a twist. According to another translated link, the pilot initially fled the scene before being apprehended by police. He now faces manslaughter charges.
