Interactive Map Reveals Where the Millions Reading About Jesus’ Birth Are Located Around the Globe

Each individual is marked on the map with a star.

The makers of the YouVersion Bible app have put together a real-time counter to monitor how many times users around the world read the Christmas story throughout the month of December.

But more than a mere ticker, the website also provides a map that shows where the people reading the story in the book of Luke are located.

Each individual is marked on the map with a star — the symbol in the sky that guided the wise men to Jesus in the book of Matthew.

In the first eight days of December, alone, the Christmas story in Luke 2 has been read more than 2.6 million times. Click here to see the map and the counter in real time.

Considering that the YouVersion Bible app is based in the U.S., it's no surprise that the majority of readers are in America. That said, there's a fair bit of international reading going on as well.

As TheBlaze previously reported, Pastor Bobby Gruenewald, innovation leader for LifeChurch.tv, created YouVersion back in 2007. The website app offer complete access to the holy book from any phone or tablet.
