“What goes around comes around.”
A Washington, D.C. couple that had fallen victim to a holiday package thief devised a plan to exact revenge — and it appeared to work.
According to WJLA-TV, surveillance footage captured a man walk in front of a couple's home Friday and take their holiday package. That was the third instance of theft the couple had faced since October.
“Obviously, it made me really mad,” the unidentified woman told WJLA. “I worked hard, saved my money, bought something and then it was just gone.”
That's when the woman and her boyfriend crafted a plan to teach the thief a lesson. The duo placed another package in front of their home, but this time it contained a stinky surprise: feces, courtesy of the couple's dogs.
“I had originally wanted to put a note in the box that said, ‘Surprise!’” the woman told WJLA.
Neighbors appeared to agree.
“You get what you deserve,” one man said. “What goes around comes around.”
"I bet you that’s the last time he stole from them, right?” echoed another.
The woman and her boyfriend also captured better images of the holiday package snatcher and they are now airing on television. Police hope someone will recognize him and deliver them a tip that leads to possible charges.
