Reality TV Star Cites God in Taking Aim at Phil Robertson

"We are to lift our brother up. We're not to kick them."

Reality TV star Todd Chrisley of USA Network's "Chrisley Knows Best" recently took aim at controversial comments made about homosexuality by "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson, claiming that God calls believers to "lift our brother up" and "not to kick them."

While Chrisley didn't go into specifics, his general comments appeared to call into question statements Robertson has made over the past year, as he has repeatedly publicly cited his faith in detailing his opposition to homosexuality.

"I think if I were to comment on that I would probably have the same level of backlash — just from a different direction," Chrisley said after Rumor Fix's Micah Jesse asked him for a reaction to Robertson.

But Chrisley didn't stop there, going on to defend the "Duck Dynasty" patriarch's right to share his views — but he added a caveat.

"I think that Phil has a right to voice his opinion. I don’t think none of us have a right to voice an opinion that’s going to hurt others," he said. "The Lord that we serve tells us that, you know, we are to lift our brother up. We're not to kick them."

These claims were made last week at KIIS-FM’s Jingle Ball in Los Angeles.

As TheBlaze has reported, Robertson continues to come under fire for openly opposing homosexuality.
