The One Thing Billy Graham Never Forgot About His Childhood That Helped Keep Him Monumentally Close to God Through the Decades

"My father is a truly genuine authentic man of God."

Famed evangelist Billy Graham's daughter Anne Graham Lotz recently revealed the one attribute that she believes has kept her 96-year-old father close to God during his many decades in ministry: humility.

She also added that Graham has never forgotten his modest roots as the son of a dairy farmer.

"He has not yet lost his focus on the gospel, reaching people for Christ and to maintain that focus when he had so many temptations to lose it, never lost his focus," Lotz told the U.K.'s Premier Christian Radio. "It was never about him."

It was that humility that grounded Graham, while also keeping him closely linked to God.

"My father is a very humble man, and I think that comes from his walk with God. If you walk with God, you're not very impressed with yourself," Lotz said. "My father is a truly genuine authentic man of God and has never forgotten that he was just the son of a dairy farmer."

It was a genuine devotion to God that she said she saw from both her father and mother that helped sustain and grow her own faith through the years.
