New Video Captures the Intense Seconds When Police Realize There's a Baby Trapped in a Wrecked Car

"Come on, baby!"

Her mother reportedly died on impact.

She was suspended above a freezing river, upside down.

But 18-month-old Lily Groesbeck survived — and new video shows the frantic minutes that police, firefighters and other first responders struggled to tip the car over and rescued the infant from the car.

The video, taken from the bodycam of a police officer on the scene, shows the fierce urgency with which first responders worked to rescue Lily when, after finding her mother Jenny Groesbeck dead in the driver's seat, they discovered the baby alive.

The baby had survived for 14-hours trapped in a car that had crashed into a Utah river on March 7.

"Come on, baby!" the police officer yells in the video as he rushes Lily up a hill. "She's definitely hypothermic."

The officer piles into an ambulance and administers CPR, and for long minutes it seems she might not survive.

But as they reach the hospital, she begins vomiting — a very good sign.

Watch KSL-TV's report on the amazing rescue below:

In previous interviews, first responders described hearing "a distinct voice" that led them to find Lily in the car.

"Someone said 'help me' inside that car," said police officer Tyler Beddoes. "For two nights I’ve laid awake trying to figure out exactly what it could be. All I know is it was there, we all heard it. It was extra motivation."
