Bambi' Gets a Gritty Reboot Like You've Never Seen Before

Disney has already rebooted "Sleeping Beauty" with the much darker "Maleficent" and released a live-action "Cinderella."

The next logical step: a "Fast and Furious"-style "Bambi."

"Saturday Night Live" riffed on the recent trend of gritty Disney classic reboots with a trailer showing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson starring as Bambi in a "deer gets revenge on hunters" shoot-em-up.

"When I was a boy, they took away my mother," "Bambi" says in the trailer. "Now it's time for them to pay — deer-ly."
