Afghan War Vet Returns to His Car to Find a Note — but This One Isn't Very Friendly
April 26, 2015
"Seriously?!?"
There appears to be a trend of people writing appreciative, heartfelt notes to veterans and police officers and leaving them on their cars.
But at times those notes aren't so kind.
Matt Zeller is an Afghan War veteran who also founded No One Left Behind, an organization that brings foreign translators for the U.S. military to America following their service and provides housing, furniture and employment assistance.
For Zeller it's a personal mission, as his Afghan translator saved his life by killing two Taliban militants who had the drop on Zeller during a firefight.
On Sunday Zeller was returning to car in a Safeway parking lot and found a decidedly unfriendly note on his car windshield:
Left on the windshield of my car at @Safeway. Seriously?!? pic.twitter.com/7H336cTWV6

"You should be ashamed of yourself," the note reads. "You are a murderer if you 'served' in Afghanistan. I hope you watch your child starve and die in front of you, as you have done to the people of Afghanistan."
Zeller's response: "Seriously?!?"
